![]() This is a portrait of the screen goddess Marilyn Monroe, that Mark Sparacio did for an advertising campaign featuring icons in different genres. Other illustrations that were in the campaign were Babe Ruth, Sherlock Holmes, Amelia Earhart, Albert Einstein, Alfred Hitchcock, etc. ![]() ![]() This is one of many portrait commissions that Mark Sparacio did for a number of Video and DVD companies. This was the first in a long string of covers to feature film stars including John Wayne, Randolph Scott, Rod Serling, Shirley Temple, Hop-A-Long Cassidy, Roy Rogers, Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck and Elmer Fudd, just to name a few. ![]() ![]() Originally this was done as a self promotional piece which garnered Mark Sparacio a lot of interest from the pharmaceutical industry, not so much in the way of work but in bottles of pain medication... and some phone numbers of some prominant psychiatrists. ![]() ![]() This painting was commissioned by Adweek, the advertising industry's bible. They were doing an article about the New York Ad Agency softball league and wanted a Rockwellian humor piece to lighten things up. A small side note; that's Sparacio's father-in-law, Ed Dwyer, as the beleagured umpire. ![]() ![]()
